Nothing Compares To The Great Classic Rock Music Of The Sixties And Seventies
Have you ever been driving down the road and a Classic Rock Song that you haven’t heard in years comes on your stereo? And did it give you the urge to go home and dig that album out and listen to it again? It’s happened to me on more than one occasion and I’m sure for some of you it’s happened as well. I might be aging myself here but for those of you like me, who were fortunate enough to experience some of the great Classic Rock Music of the sixties and seventies, in the sixties and seventies, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Legendary Bands
The sixties and seventies brought us a lot of great songs and albums from some of the most legendary bands to ever form. Bands like The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Cream, The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, and I know I could continue with a list that goes on and on, produced some of the best songs ever. These bands created some Classic Rock Songs that are still being listened to today, everyday. Not only have these songs survived the test of time, some of the bands that created them were still touring up until a couple of years ago and some probably still are. There are also some members of some of these bands that are doing the casino circuits to this day playing fan favorites of their respective bands.
Lazin on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon
Not too long ago on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I was listening to one of my favorite rock stations. For years now they’ve had a show that takes up most of the Sunday schedule called Psychedelic Sunday. (For anyone interested it’s Q107 in Toronto) Almost the entire day is devoted to Classic Rock Songs and Albums from the sixties and seventies. Although I listen in quite often, this one particular Sunday I decided to pull out some of my old albums just to have a look at what I was still in possession of. To my pleasant surprise I ended up finding a trunk full of albums that I totally forgot I had. There was well over one hundred albums in that old trunk and since I was one of those guys that would record any album I bought onto a cassette, and then put it into a plastic sleeve and put it away, these albums and their covers were in excellent shape. The only problem was that I haven’t had a turntable in over twenty years and even if I had one today, I most likely wouldn’t play these albums on one anyways.
Digitally Re-mastered CD’s
I decided that I would slowly start to replace some of the albums I liked the most with digitally re-mastered CD’s. I couldn’t believe how easy replacing them turned out to be. It’s only been a few months since I started replacing these great Classic Rock Albums and I can tell you that I’ve already managed to replace over twenty of them. There hasn’t been one that I have looked for that I wasn’t able to find, and from what I’ve seen, I know that finding anymore that I want wont be a problem at all. They are literally all available whenever I choose to go and get them.
Nothing Compares to Classic Rock Music
Now I’ll be the first to admit that there are a lot extremely talented musicians and songwriters these days, that produce some excellent songs in many different genres, but in my opinion nothing does or ever will compare with the great classic rock music of the sixties and seventies, and I really hope that I’ve been able to inspire you to go down into your basement or out to your garage and dig out those old classic rock albums that you haven’t listened to in a very long time. Good luck and Happy listening.
