Build Shed

Normally, on a Friday or Saturday night, I was the type of guy who, could and would be found frequenting many of the different bars in or near Hills county Texas. Back then, if you were to mention visiting one of Texas wineries, I would have probably scuffed and laughed at you. I know I would have, probably raising my hand all daintily, as if I was holding a wimpy wine glass.

I would be laughing at you about spending time at a Texas winery.

This all changed after I won tickets to a Dallas Cowboys game. I won 2 tickets to the Dallas Cowboys vs the Chicago Bears. Amazing. Me and a friend, on August 4th were all prepared and ready to sit in a suite all by ourselves to watch this game in this amazing new stadium.

Well, a few minor things were not exampled to me. The tickets were to a suite where a radio show was holding a party. Well, they said, "free beer and sandwiches". OHHHH, OK!!!

But this was where I met the love of my life!!! HAHA, but she is great so far. But she doesnt drink beer. I cringed the first time she told me that. Instead she had me drinking wine throughout the course of the Cowboy game. It took a little bit of getting used to at first but by the start of the second half, I was looking for the wine bottle to pour. OHHH YEAH, I found a new favorite.

So, I was dating this girl who introduced me to wine in the Cowboy stadium suite for about 6 months. I was dragging her to bars, I knew she wasnt enjoying herself but she put up with it.

One of these night out at the bar, a fight broke out, I was in the middle of it. My girlfriend, really didnt enjoy this. It happens, what can I do about it?

The next day she came to me and said, "Next weekend we will be spending our time at one of the Texas wineries near us". I said, "What?" and she said, "Shut up!". WOW. Does this girl deserve me, I thought.

Probably not!!! But I did entertain her little wish, I did visit her Texas winery.

I came off very surprised from my first winery visit I was DRAGGED to. No one looking to beat my head in, very cool. For the past year I have been spending my Friday and Saturday nights at Texas wineries instead of bars. So if you are a guy and your girlfriend is dragging you to a winery. Its not that bad. Some wineries serve great food so you can eat, I know you love that. Just find a nice wine you enjoy and enjoy the people around you. I found most of the people you meet at wineries are much nicer than out at the bar. And many wineries have great live entertainment, thats a plus also.
