Thanksgiving Tablescape
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Before Christmas decorating begins, I wanted to share with our Thanksgiving tablescape with you.Mr. DIY brought me a colorful Fall bouquet and I used those colors to inspire my table.
All the dishes, candlesticks, napkins and tablecloth were shopped from the house. The soup tureen that the flowers are in was my mother in laws.
The dishes are what we use every day...Mikasa Italian Countryside. The glasses are vintage
"Boopie". Placemats, napkins and tablecloth were purchased at HomeGoods. Flatware is by Wallace.
I found the chargers at Walmart a few years back.
The turkey was huge this year! I ordered an organic, free range turkey from Earth Fare this year that was supposed to come in between 16 and 20 pounds. It was 21 pounds! Thats quite a bit for only 4 people.
Now that weve had our Thanksgiving turkey, its on to Christmas decorating and festivities!
Hope you are doing something fun this "Black Friday". Would love to hear if you went shopping today and what great deals youve found!

So this past weekend I had a chance to check out the new salvage/maker shop "Farnswood" in Worcester, MA, run by Craig Farnsworth and his wife Karyn. Farnswood really is a family affair as each weekend, with their kids in tow, the shop opens it doors to display its array of funky, one-of-a-kind, unusual, and repurposed wares, gifts, and furniture. I had a blast checking the place out, picked up a few items (the funky tool box lamp you see in the photo below), and a stool made from a model t axle, and immediately saw the potential in this cool industrial space for the possibility of a future workshop..... well see..... well see.....
Whatever the case, get yer keister down to Farnswood, tell em I sent you, and support this family, who are doing something very cool and creative!
Theyre at 100 Barber Ave- Worcester, MA

Check out this great little video of Emily Lindahl from "Florida Tiny House Enthusiasts". She legally lives in a tiny, tiny house in Orlando, Florida. This house was once owned by Elaine Walker of www.Tinyhousecommunity.com
This video tour shows just about every nook and cranny of Emilys tiny home (a Tumbleweed "Lusby" model). It also has some great space saving ideas in it.

Christmas In The Breakfast Room 2014
Christmas In The Breakfast Room 2014
There is one room in our house that I love to decorate and change up all the time and that room is...
The Breakfast Room
The neutral paint (Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore), the three windows
and the inexpensive Ikea curtains make for a great backdrop.
This year for an easy centerpiece, I just put some vintage books with mini cloched Christmas tree ornaments inside a larger cloche and put it all on a clear glass cake stand.
I threw in a vintage doily hand crocheted by my grandmother.
I used some pretty napkins for placemats. The salad plates were my mother in laws. I think we originally gave them to her many years ago. They were from Restoration Hardware. They look great on top of some plain white china. Flatware is by Wallace.
I cant remember where I found those ruby glasses many years ago.
The wreaths were a closeout several years ago from Home Decorators.com. I use a Command Strip hook to hang them from the windows.
Now that youve seen my favorite room to decorate for Christmas, whats yours?
Would love to know!
Pam
